Gina T'ai is a dance maker, dance teacher, performer and collaborator. She completed her Master of Fine Arts in Dance from Hollins University/The American Dance Festival in 2008. She attended the California Institute of the Arts before transferring to Hollins University where she completed her B.A in Dance. She was a member of bopi’s black sheep/dances by Kraig Patterson (NYC) and has danced for Ann Liv Young, David Dorfman, Li-Chiao Ping and many others. Ms. T'ai's work has been presented at conferences and venues around the world including the World Dance Alliance - Americas, Performatica in Puebla, Mexico, The Society of Dance History Scholars 2009 and the WUK in Vienna, Austria.
Ms. T'ai is co-artistic director of Distance Dances along with her collaborator, fellow dancer/choreographer Susan Honer. She makes dancing for the camera films and videos with her collaborator, Joe Kirschling and their award winning video Lumiere D'Ampoule has been shown at festivals around the world.
Ms. T'ai has taught at Webster University, Salem State College, ACDF Northeastern Conference and is currently on faculty at Beloit College in WIsconsin.
